Artist Statement

For me abstract art has no limits.  I am always amazed at what takes shape when experimenting with lines, shapes, and color.  This is vital to please not only me, but ultimately the viewer.  Abstract art is suggestive; thus, viewer opinions vary.  I smile at their comments and delight in what they see. I find abstract art stimulating, as I am in awe with each and every finish piece.

When I paint, I'm in my element. I am a self-taught visual artist.  My paintings are a combination of a controlled yet energetic sense of movement.  I paint best in a serene environment filled with relaxing music and a cold glass of wine.  This makes for a productive evening.

To enhance my skills, I take classes at MIAD and MPS Recreation. Watercolor, acrylics, color-pencils, and crayons are my medium. My subjects are faces, flowers, nature scenes, and still-life.  My current interest is Pour Art.  I plan to create multiple pour art paintings for public display at the Mitchell Park Domes this coming Spring.

In addition to this website, my artwork is show at various venues such as the Wehr Nature Center, the Walkers Point Center for the Arts and in the Art Gallery at Alverno College.  In my spare time I teach abstract art at Milwaukee Marshall and Hamilton High Schools.
